Vanesa Lorenzo

Vanesa Lorenzo (b. 1977) is an established fashion model from Barcelona, Spain. She has appeared on the covers of Neo, Cosmopolitan, Self, Vogue, Amica, Lucky, Woman, Elle, and Glamour. Lorenzo has represented Pepe Jeans, Ralph Lauren, Escada, Giorgio Armani, L'Oreal, Yves Saint Laurent, Gap, Laura Biagiotti, Victoria's Secret, Christian Dior, and Pantene throughout her career. Recent editorial credits include the Harper’s Bazaar Spain piece “Icons” and appearances in El Pais Semanal, Yo Dona, and Woman Spain in 2013. Lorenzo has been featured on the cover of Elle Spain 14 times. Lorenzo also posed for the 2002 Greenpeace calendar, and was featured in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She appears in the 2003 book “Espa?a de moda,” as well as the 2004 Larios calendar.

From 1996-2003, Lorenzo appeared in numerous fashion shows, modeling clothes for designers such as Roberto Torretta, Julie Sohn, Miguel Placio, Collette Dinnigan, Jerome L'Huillier, Junko Shimada, Armand Basi, Josep Font, La Perla, Lydia Delgado, Emanuel Ungaro, Dolce & Gabbana, Andres Sardá, Armand Basi, Nuria Mora, Peter Aedo, TCN, Lola Escobar, David Valls, Lolita Lempicka, and Bella Freud. Although she no longer appears in runway shows, Lorenzo still makes time for occasional appearances in magazines, such as the recent Vogue Spain feature “7 Looks for 7 Days” in which she shows off a variety of casual looks in everyday settings. In 2010, she appeared in a video with other Spanish models advocating for women's rights.

Lorenzo has been romantically involved with FC Barcelona captain Carles Puyol since 2012, and they have a daughter named Manuela. In addition to modeling, she has also ventured into the acting world, appearing in the Italian romantic comedy Fireworks (1997), a fantasy film called El topo y el hada (1998), and the Spanish Entreacte (1989). She became a model after placing second in the Elite Look of the Year contest when she was 16 years of age, at which time she moved to Paris and later New York to pursue her modeling career. Because Lorenzo is relatively small in stature for a runway model at 5’7” (1.72 m), she is sometimes classified as a petite model, and is famous for her blonde hair and blue eyes.

Lorenzo recently launched her own fashion line, garnering Marie Claire’s 2013 Prix Award for Best New Designer. She is committed to making her products in Spain and employing “ethical work principles” in her fashion production, and her fashion philosophy is “one woman is many women.” Lorenzo believes that quality is better than quantity when it comes to fashion, and employs this principle in her designs, creating pieces that are meant to have a timeless appeal. She studied at the IED Moda Lab Madrid before going on to become a designer after becoming interested in the process of clothing production. Like many models, Lorenzo used her experience in the fashion industry to take her career in a new direction and realize her own artistic vision. Lorenzo’s designs are available at Pez in Madrid and Magnolia Antic in Barcelona, as well as online through her website.

She works with IMG and Munich Models.
