Quiana Grant is an American model who made her appearance in 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She also featured in a body painting layout as a canvas for the bodypaint artist Joanne Gair, who is in her 10th year of body paint art production for the Swimsuit Issue. Quinna was also part of a record-setting class composed of seven rookie Swimsuit Issue models along with Melissa Haro, Melissa Baker, Jarah Mariano, Jessica Gomes, Yasmin Brunet and Jeisa Chiminazzo.
Quiana Grant was born in 1982 in Newport News, Virginia. She attended Menchville High School and later graduated in 1999. At the age of 14, she went out with a friend in her hometown where Quiana was discovered by a talent scout from New York City. Rather than jumping into modelling right away, Quiana decided to stay in school full time until she attained age 16. The same year her mother almost lost her eyesight after suffering from a serious eye condition called chorioretinitis. She relied much on Quiana Grant to serve as her eyes.
Though she did work on some assignments back in New York before completing her studies at Menchville High school, she was ready to take modelling full time after graduating in 1999. One of her major signings was with Maybelline. She also debuted on the catwalks for the spring/summer 2003 season shows gracing the runway for Tommy Hilfinger, Anne Klein and Diesel StyleLab. In 2004, she was featuring in Baby Phat, YaYa, and Hong Kong Luxe among others.
At the time she was releasing her debut in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Quiana was twenty-six years old with over ten years of modelling experience by then. She has modelled for other agencies such as GAP (photos by Steven Meisel) and Maybelline ad campaigns. She has also done runway work for some of the most famous fashion houses and designers such as Michael Kors, Bill Blass, Karl Lagerfeld and Anne Klein. She is representative of big names such as IMG in New York, City Models in Paris, Modelwerk in Germany, France as well as Vision Model Management.
She currently lives Haelem in New York, but she considers Newport News, Virginia to be her hometown
